Thomas P. Jones

Thomas P. Jones was born in 1774. He died in 1848. He was an Engineer and a publisher.

He was born in Herefordshire, England. He emigrating to America as a youth. He was the cofounder, publisher, and editor of American Mechanics Magazine (in 1825).

Thomas P. Jones lived inNew York City. He taught at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. He merged American Mechanics Magazine with the Institute's existing magazine, entitling it the Journal of the Franklin Institute (in 1828). He remained editor until his death.

He lived in Washington, D.C. and served as superintendent and examiner of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
