The Tollymore Forest Park was the first state forest in Northern Ireland when it was established in 1955. It is located near the town of Newcastle.
An 'unofficial' pagan festival takes place every year at the top of Drinahilly mountain situated in Tullymore. The date changes but it is usually between June and July, featuring a 30ft high burning wicker man .
