Ultem is a family of polyimide thermoplastic resins, of type amorphous polyetherimide . Ultem is a registered trademark of General Electric, the principal developer and manufacturer. Ultem resins are used in medical and chemical instrumentation, due to their heat resistance, solvent resistance and flame resistance.
